U2 est un groupe irlandais de pop-rock formé en 1976 à Dublin. Il est composé de Bono (Paul Hewson) au chant, The Edge (David Evans) à la guitare, Adam Clayton à la basse et Larry Mullen Jr. à la batterie. Depuis la fin des années 1980, U2 s'est imposé sur la scène mondiale comme l'un des meilleurs groupes de rock. Leurs albums les plus connus sont The Joshua Tree (1987) et Achtung Baby (1991). Leur dernier en date est No Line On The Horizon (2009). Ils ont vendu 170 millions d'albums et ont également remporté 22 Grammy Awards. Depuis le milieu des années 1980, le groupe défend la cause des Droits de l'Homme ("Bullet The Blue Sky") et Bono a été en lice pour le Prix Nobel de la paix en 2003 et en 2005. Il a aussi fait la promotion d'Amnesty International lors de ses concerts. Les membres du groupe deviennent d'ailleurs « ambassadeurs de conscience » de l'organisation en 2005. En décembre 2005, Bono est nommé « Personnalité de l'année 2005 » par le Time Magazine pour son combat en faveur de l'Afrique. U2 est un des 3 seuls groupes a avoir fait la couverture du "Times", avec The Beatles et The Who. U2 a annoncé la sortie d'un nouvel album courant 2008, No Line On The Horizon, sorti en mars 2009. Vers de nouveaux horizons, 360 TOUR and more... Le quatuor irlandais marque son retour sur la scène internationale en 2009 avec son nouvel opus “No Line On The Horizon” , sorti fin février. Ce douzième album studio regroupe des morceaux homogènes et percutants, on y retrouve les titres: Get On Your Boots, Magnificent, No line On The Horizon, I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight et Moment of Surrender. Depuis sa sortie l'album connait un succès relatif, se classant numero 1 dans de nombreux pays dans les semaines suivant sa sortie, ...
