Description de l'artiste Timbaland

Timbaland, né Timothy Z. Mosley à Norfolk en Virginie le 10 mars 1971, est un rappeur et producteur de musique américain. Il passe son enfance dans le sud des États-Unis avec son petit frère Sebastian. Il rencontre par la suite Magoo et Missy Elliott, sa complice de toujours qu'il portera vers les sommets. Surnommé le « Mozart du R'n'B », Timbaland entre en 1997 dans l'histoire de la musique en étant le créateur révolutionnaire de la New Soul faisant de lui le pionnier de la R'n'B/Soul music actuelle. Il s'est inspiré des modules fastrackers (fichiers xm tirés des séquenceurs amigas) de Tekstup pour forger son son. Il est aujourd'hui un des producteurs américains de hip-hop et R'n'B les plus connus. Considéré comme le meilleur beatmaker et comme le meilleur super-producteur de la planète avec Dr Dre, « Timbo » ne cesse d'émerveiller le monde du R'n'B par des productions plus géniales les unes que les autres. D'où son surnom dans le milieu du hip hop aux USA de Goldfingers car il est censé transformer en or tout ce qu'il touche. Timbaland a notamment contribué à créer les chansons les plus connues de style urbain d'artistes tels que Aaliyah, Ginuwine, Nelly Furtado. Tous les artistes du monde entier se l'arrachent : de Brandy à Jay-Z en passant par Justin Timberlake,LL Cool J, Eve, P.Diddy ou encore The Game, 50 Cent, Björk, Duran Duran, récemment la reine de la pop Madonna mais aussi Ashlee Simpson et plus particulièrement Missy Elliott. Ce qui en fait un producteur polyvalent. Il a également travaillé avec le groupe de garage punk Suédois The Hives où il apparait en duo sur le titre "Throw It On Me". Avec 3 albums solo à son actif, dont le tout récent Shock Value, Timbaland reste le précurseur d'un nouveau genre musical ...
