When I discovered contouring 5 years ago, I knew it was something I was going to be addicted to forever. Whether it’s a cream, powder, liquid, or stick - I’ve tried it all. So when I recently discovered tantouring, I knew it was something I had to try. We all know that the reason so many people contour is to help sculpt the face while keeping the lines natural - Never harsh. But what is "Tantouring" and is it worth the try? I researched and learned that tantouring is a contouring technique that involves a self-tanner to semipermanently bring dimension to the face. Say what??! Yep, It’s a risky tutorial but if done strategically you can have a contoured makeup-free face for up to 2 weeks! Summer is right around the corner so this could be a helpful tutorial to try for the pool! I’ve been watching tons of tutorials online and it seems pretty promising. Regardless I was a bit (or a lot) nervous as this was my first time. I wanted to experience this with you guys and share if self-tanner could really be used to target the areas I wanted: under the cheekbones, down the sides of my nose and under the jawline. The forehead is optional, I have a pretty tiny forehead so I personally take it easy in that area. Are you ready to see how my Tantouring turned out? Watch my tutorial above! After you apply the self-tanner to the areas desired, it’s recommended to let it sit for an hour if you want a light contour, two hours for a medium effect, and three hours for a deep tan. When the time passes gently cleanse your face to wash it all off. Instantly you will see the results! If you’re nervous the first time start light and if you want more then just repeat again. I know the waiting part sucks, but imagine the time you won’t be spending contouring for next couple weeks once it’s done! Maybe try it on a weeknight or wait for the weekend when you don’t have any plans. The ideal result is a very natural-looking sculpt so avoid the heavy hand. In this tantouring tutorial you’ll also see a light and easy way to apply makeup afterwards! Good luck! Sound off: Is tantouring something you’re willing to try? Worth it or no?
