Professionally recorded sound comparison between a Fender USA Stratocaster, Fender USA Telecaster and a Gibson Les Paul. No talking, just pure, direct cut sound :-) The particular guitars in this video are: * Fender American Standard Stratocaster * Fender American Deluxe Telecaster * Gibson Les Paul Classic (Sprint Run) The sound demos are cut directly to one another, so you can tell the differences between the three guitars better. Diffenrences between Fender Stratocaster - Fender Telecaster - Gibson Les Paul clean: * The Stratocaster is well balanced and has shiny highs. * The Telecaster also has tendencies towards the highs, but is more aggressive with a lot more twang (presence / high mids) * The Les Paul sounds a lot warmer / darker, with more bass and mids, and far less highs. Diffenrences between Stratocaster - Telecaster - Les Paul overdrive: The Strat gives you great vintage sounds à la Hendrix. The Stratocaster also provides a clear attack, which gives it a crispy and bright tone. * The Fender Telecaster cuts through the band mix best between the three guitars. It leans strongly towards the high mids and has that distinct Tele twang sound loved in country and funk music. * The Les Paul is - due to its humbucker pickups - easier to get the amp overdriven. The differences in sound are obivous. It distorts earlier and sounds warmer, but doesn`t cut through the mix that well, due to its lack of highs. Strat - Tele - Les Paul sound comparison distortion: * The Strat`s bridge pickup sounds pretty harsh. It also doesn`t have that much volume, due to the Strat`s single coil pickup. * The Tele doesn`t provide plenty of overdrive either. The Tele sounds pretty strident, but cuts through the mix very well. * Distortion sounds are the Les Paul`s main territory. The Gibson Les Paul`s humbuckers sound fat, without ever getting strident. A Les Paul really knows how to sing. Conclusion sound comparison Stratocaster - Telecaster - Les Paul: The Fender Stratocaster and the Fender Telecaster both definately lean towards the clean and vintage overdrive sounds. The Gibson Les Paul on the other hand, starts coming to live when using it in an overdrive and distortion setup. ****************************************************************** Please like this video!
