Calvin Broadius alias Snoop Dogg (anciennement Snoop Doggy Dogg) est un rappeur et acteur américain né le 20 octobre 1972 à Long Beach, Californie. Il mesure 1m92. Snoop est plus connu comme MC dans le milieu du hip hop West Coast, et pour être l'un des protégés du producteur Dr. Dre. Issu d'une famille d'origine Haitienne, sa mère l'a rapidement surnommé « Snoopy » en raison de l'expression de son visage, et il a pris le pseudonyme de Snoop Doggy Dogg quand il a commencé à enregistrer. Il a changé son nom en Snoop Dogg en 1996 lorsqu'il a quitté le label qui l'a révélé Death Row Records pour signer sur le label de Master P, No Limit Records. Plusieurs de ses cousins sont également devenus des rappeurs et des collaborateurs du label Aftermath Entertainment, dont RBX, Nate Dogg et Daz Dillinger. Comme rappeur, Snoop est devenu célèbre pour sa voix « traînante, nonchalante et paresseuse ». Selon Soundscan, il a vendu 90 millions d'albums entre 1991 et janvier 2006. Son slogan favori qui s'entend dans bon nombre de ses chansons est « fo' shizzle, my nizzle » (contraction de « for sure, my nigger » qui peut se traduire approximativement par pour sûr, mon pote).
