Richard Noel Marx (né le 16 septembre 1963 à Chicago, en Illinois) est un auteur-compositeur-interprète et un producteur américain. Pendant les années 1980s et 1990s, Marx a sorti plusieurs tubes, y compris "Right here waiting," "Hazard," et "Hold on to the nights." Bien qu'il ait rencontré le succès principalement avec des ballades comme celles-ci, beaucoup de ses chansons ont un son rock, comme "Don't mean nothing," "Should've known better," "Satisfied," et "Too late to say goodbye". Marx a été le premier artiste aux États-Unis à avoir les sept premiers extraits de ses albums placés dans le top 5 du Billboard.
