The AMA’s were filled with dynamite performances, but the one moment that left us speechless happened during Meghan Trainor and Charlie Puth’s performance of their hit duet, “Marvin Gaye.” A stunning Meghan started off the performance, hitting all the high notes on her ballad “Like I’m Gonna Lose You”, which lead into a very sexy rendition of “Marvin Gaye” accompanied by Charlie Puth. Both singers nailed the performance, but their talent was upstaged by that insane makeout session at the end of “Marvin Gaye.” It left all of us wondering...was that kiss for real?! Real or not, we’re definitely shipping these two. Marlie? Chai-gen? We’ll work on that ship name. Meghan and Charlie have worked together since last year, when he made a cameo on her single “Dear Recent Husband.” So these two talents have been friends for a while, but was that kiss for real? It definitely looked hot and heavy, but according to Charlie, it was just a part of the performance. In a backstage interview Charlie said, “We’re friends and it’s all part of my whole vision when I made ‘Marvin Gaye,’ for people to hear the record and spontaneously make out with each other.” Well mission accomplished, Charlie. Although we gotta say, that’s not how we kiss our friends.
