Kris Kross est un groupe de rap du début des années 1990 formé par deux jeunes issus d'Atlanta. Ils sont connus pour porter leurs vêtements à l'envers. Les deux membres de Kris Kross sont Chris Kelly (alias Mack Daddy, né le 11 août 1978) et Chris Smith (alias Daddy Mack, né le 10 janvier 1979). Ils sont repérés par Jermaine Dupri en 1991 et leur premier album, Totally Krossed Out, qui sort en 1992 se vend à plus de quatre millions d'exemplaires. L'album inclut le single « Jump ! » qui est resté numéro un du Hot 100 de Billboard pendant huit semaines. Ce tube leur permet de participer à la tournée européenne de Michael Jackson cette année-là. L'accoutrement de Kris Kross lance une mode éphémère chez les jeunes américains qui consiste à porter les jeans à l'envers. Au pic de leur popularité, un jeu vidéo portant leur nom est créé par Sega, Kris Kross : Make My Video, mais il ne paraît qu'aux États-Unis et en Europe. Leur second album, Da Bomb, sort en 1993, mais il ne rencontre pas le succès du précédent tout comme leur dernier album, Young, Rich & Dangerous (1995).
