Magic tricks are a sneaky learning game for kids in disguise. This simple coin trick will improve your child’s confidence, cognitive abilities and fine motor skills. It’s all about the sleight of hand and remembering that practice makes perfect! Place the coin on the table in front of you. Tell your audience you will now make the coin disappear. Here comes the sleight of hand: Use your hand, palm down, to sweep the coin towards you on the table, quickly sweep it off the table and into your lap, but ... keeping your fingers together as though you are still holding it, bring your hand up to your mouth, blow on the 'coin' and open your hand to reveal you have made it disappear. It takes some practise, but practise makes perfect. So keep at it until you have the illusion down pat. Hints and tips: It helps to make a magic waving motion with your free hand to distract the audience when you initially sweep the coin off the table and into your lap.
