Steven Ellison de son vrai nom ou encore Juno Leed, ne pouvait faire autrement que de s'orienter vers la musique. En effet, quand on est le neveu d'Alice Coltrane on a, comme qui dirait, un rang à tenir. Voyons si le jeune homme porte haut l'étendard d'une famille déjà légendaire. Jusqu'ici, peu d'apparitions discographiques agrémentent son parcours. Une participation sur une compile regroupant la scène émergente Soul de L.A., un remix de l'artiste Mia Doi Todd sur un 12'', trois beats sur une compile Adult Swim et un remix du 'Fall In Love' de Jay Dee qui a tourné par-ci par-là… Rien de très significatif. Pourtant, on entend déjà des associations élogieuses et les noms de Madlib, Jay Dee ou Prefuse 73 sont prononcés. Il est vrai qu'il y a un peu de tout ça. On pourrait aussi faire un rapprochement bienvenu entre Dabrye et Lotus ; deux artistes dont l'approche musicale présente nombre de similitudes. Les deux ont certes hérité d'un groove que l'on se doit d'imputer à Dilla, mais ils ont toutefois su y apporter leurs saveurs propres, bâties sur des compositions électroniques originales et inspirées.
