The Kent-based producer has been something of a leading figure emerging from the current generation of underground dubstep since 2008. With a steadily building discography spanning over the course of five years, he remains faithful to the fundamental ethics of dubstep, exploring the darkened yet potent sonic sparseness while constantly pushing the boundaries of the genre. With a slew of muscular production out on Roska Kicks & Snares, 2nd Drop, Argon, Dub Police and his own Soul Shakerz, he has also been a regular fixture on Tempa, which houses his debut self-titled full-length album, out just last year. Kenzo's Dubstep Allstars Vol. 11 offers a fresh perspective on the genre as it exists beneath the surface of the mainstream -- a vision of dubstep still defiantly focused around core ethics of physical impact and sonic experimentation. "There's a new wave of producers coming through that are really making more progressive music, and I wanted to represent that, because I've been playing that sound a lot recently," explains Kenzo. "It's good to showcase how dubstep has progressed so far over the years. A lot of people have gone out of the scene now and are doing other things, but these are the top artists and the top tunes that still keep it locked to the roots of the sound." The mix contains three brand new, as-yet-released tracks by Kenzo, each of which takes a drastically different approach -- from the beautiful, Blade Runner-esque synths of Enter Valarak to the ultra-percussive whirlwind of Ricochet - forthcoming on a separate EP titled 'Bloodlines' also released on Tempa.
