Cue the goosebumps, because there’s no better set of pipes for a Whitney tribute than Christina Aguilera. At the 2017 AMAs Christina Aguilera took the stage to honor the late Whitney Houston with an 8-minute medley on the 25th anniversary of ‘The Bodyguard’. Set on a stark black stage wearing a black satin gown Christina first belted out Whitney’s powerhouse ballad: “I Will Always Love You”. Christina then transitioned into Whitney’s tune “I Have Nothing” with a full band and clips from “The Bodyguard” playing on screen behind her. In case you were wondering, “The Bodyguard” is still the best-selling movie soundtrack of all time. Christina’s medley then moved on to “Run To You” and ended with “I’m Every Woman” complete with an all female choir. The tribute performance brought the audience to its feet as they sang along to Whitney’s iconic hits. But one person that wasn’t quite feeling it was Pink who was seen in the audience with a questionable look on her face. Despite Pink’s look, there’s no question Christina was thrilled to perform for Whitney. Christina has previously slated Whitney as one of her childhood heros and prior to the performance wrote on Instagram, “I am excited, honored and humbled to perform a tribute to one of my idols.” What did you guys think of Christina’s “The Bodyguard” soundtrack medley?
