The tribute titled Stevie Wonder: Songs In The Key of Life – An All-Star Grammy Salute went underway yesterday at the Nokia theatre at LA Live and was truly a star-studded event. Stars from all walks of life gathered to celebrate Stevie including Queen B and as if a tribute from Beyonce wasn’t perfect enough, she was later joined onstage by Ed Sheeran and Gary Clark Jr. for an epic performance of “Higher Ground.” Needless to say for that five minutes time stood still and all was right with the world. And of course with an occurrence this perfect, you know it was documented on social media. Both Ed and Beyonce instagramed photos of their surprise performance with B simply captioning her pic – “Stevie tribute” while Ed instagramed a shot of himself, B, and guitarist Gary Clark Jr. all onstage together with the caption – “Had a brilliant time performing with these two tonight at the Stevie Wonder tribute.” Can we get more future collabs from B and Ed please? Earlier on in the performance, Beyonce also performed Fingertips Pt. 2 and other performers who honored the legendary Stevie Wonder included Lady Gaga, Pharrell, Ariana Grande, Janelle Monae, John Legend and many more before the night was capped off with a medley from Stevie himself. Jay-Z was also in the house from the audience cheering on his boss wife and an witness informed E! News that QUOTE – “You [could] really tell they were genuinely having a good time.” A duh with a Stevie Wonder tribute how could you not?
