Anastacia Lyn Newkirk est une chanteuse de pop, soul et d'influence rock (Sprock) née le 17 septembre 1968 à Chicago dans l'Illinois aux États-Unis. Elle a vendu plus de 46 millions de disques depuis la sortie de son premier album Not That kind en 2000. Plus récemment Anastacia est devenue styliste. Anastacia est issue d'une famille d'artistes qui voue une admiration sans bornes aux grandes voix que représentent Elton John ou Barbra Streisand. Parallèlement, Anastacia fréquente régulièrement les clubs locaux spécialisés dans la house music. Ses talents de danseuse tapent dans l'œil des clients et parmi ceux-ci, se trouvent quelques producteurs influents. Ils lui permettent de faire de la figuration dans des clips du groupe Salt-N-Pepa. En 1993, nouveau déménagement pour la jeune femme qui met le cap sur Los Angeles. Elle y rencontre OG Pearce qui lui propose de remixer l'une de ses premières compositions, One More Chance. La chance vient de frapper à sa porte ! Celle-ci lui ouvre de nouvelles portes comme celles de "The Cut", l'équivalent américain de l'émission "Graines de Stars". Si Anastacia n'en est pas la lauréate à proprement parler, elle apparaît tout de même comme la grande gagnante !
