We got a call on our helpline that a street dog had been attacked by someone and burned by acid. When our ambulance arrived we found that the chemical had caused a 3rd degree burn and had dissolved the skin all the way down to the muscle. We were not able to find any information about who did this atrocious cruelty to her. With the skin burned off on almost half of her back, we truly were not sure if the wound would be able to heal, but we knew we had to try. With daily bandaging and treatment, it took 6 months for her enormous wound to heal. Today Honey lives at Animal Aid Unlimited's shelter in permanent sanctuary. She will never be hurt again.
