Ralph Vaughan Williams est un compositeur britannique né le 12 octobre 1872 à Down Ampney (Gloucester) et mort le 26 août 1958 à Londres. Petit-neveu de Charles Darwin et fils d'un pasteur, il étudie le violon puis la composition au Royal College of Music à Londres. Il y rencontre notamment Gustav Holst qui devient son ami. Il poursuit ses études au Trinity College à Cambridge. Il réside ensuite à Londres et fait de nombreux voyages dans son pays où il recueille des chants populaires. Read more on Last.fm...
