We’re bringing you the highlights. Today's episode of Clevver News feed is brought to you by T-Mobile, the uncarrier. Beyonce performed AND announced a tour, Bruno Mars performed, and Coldplay was there too. GUYS. I’m still recovering. Mainly from Beyonce’s surprise tour announcement but let’s talk about Halftime. The show started with Coldplay barfing a Crayola box over the stadium with an array of beautiful colors. The audience formed the image of a sun by holding up different colored pieces of paper which was super cool. FYI MJ did that first in 1993. Google it. But Coldplay’s stage really was beautiful. The stage literally lit up and looked like a sequence of early 2000s MAC screen savers. Then these flowers came running out onto the field, making a beautiful flower bed that made me feel like I was hard core on an Alice and Wonderland Lisa Frank trip. Coldplay sang their hits including “Viva La Vida,” “Paradise,” and “Adventure of a Lifetime” before letting Bruno take it away. Mark Ronson kicked off the Bruno section by spinning “Uptown Funk” on his turn tables and BAM Bruno broke out and killed it. Bruno and his Hooligans shut it down per usual and rocked some old school pleather black jumpsuits giving off serious Run DMC vibes. I definitely appreciated their b-boy moves, whipping out the running man, and the hammer dance. Live Bruno. Live. Then the world stopped when the Queen herself entered the arena dressed like the King of Pop. It should come as no surprise that Beyonce slayed. She was brought in with a drum introduction and proceeded to sing her new song “Formation.” She paid homage to Michael Jackson with her costume which was a replica of what he wore for his superbowl performance in 1993. B kept the message of her new single “Formation” going with her dancers dressed in costumes that were a nod to the Black Panther Party. There were pyrotechnics, insane dance breaks and THAT ASS. It put me to sleep. Then B and Bruno broke out into a dance battle, complete with a stand off before Coldplay jumped in, third wheelin hard core. But then Coldplay did a really cool tribute to several past Superbowl performances while singing “Clocks.” Footage from past shows was displayed on the stage including performances by James Brown, Katy Perry, Stevie Wonder, Whitney Houston’s Star Spangled Banner, Paul McCaurtney, Prince, and the King of Pop of course. As Beyonce and Brunos’ footage was played, they made their way back out onto the stage for a group performance of “Fix You.” It was all very touching. BUT just when you thought it was over, WORLD STOP. BEYONCE ANNOUNCED A FORMATION WORLD TOUR. And no this is not a drill. It’s happening and tickets go on sale February 16th with pre-sale starting Feb 9th. So what were your favorite moments from the halftime show?
