The primary purpose of this video is for our children to learn salawat and understand their meanings. We have carefully edited the video to include lyrics as well as English and Malay translations so that they too may learn the verses in multiple languages. We are aware of the controversy surrounding the practice of reciting Salawat Syifa' could lead to syirik. Nevertheless, it is a beautiful salawat and reciting it definitely help ease the mind. None of the authentic Kitaab written by the righteous scholars of the Ahle Sunnah, who are in the majority, have ever condemned this practice of the recitation and the standing and indeed no objection can be found either in the Glorious Qur’aan or the Ahadith. However, there are still a minority group who severely condemn this practice and have labeled this very practice as Shirk, Bid’at and Haraam. It is completely within the Shari'ah (Islamic Law) to recite Salutations and Blessings upon Allah's Messenger (sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam) as is evident in the following Qur'aanic ayat : "Undoubtedly, Allah and His Angels send blessings on the Prophet (the Communicator of Unseen News), O you who believe ! Send upon him blessings and salute him fully well in abundance" (Surah al-Ahzab, Verse 56) Read More here: http://www.islamicacademy.org/html/Articles/English/Salat-o-Salam.htm The background picture is of the mosque of The Islamic Center in Dearborn, Michigan. In Dua - Salawat for Healing (Shifa) - There a numbers of dua of healing in time of sickness, depress and other predicaments. 'Selawat' is a form of dua as 'Selawat' to Prophet Muhammad SAW bring lots of benefits and blessings to those who say it. Just like istighfar, tasbih, etc. 'Selawat' was also the practice of the salafusolleh. When digging the trench during the battle of Khandaq, the sahabahs also said 'Selawat' in abundance to raise the spirit of the Mujahideen. Allah (swt) says in the Holy Qur’an: "Verily Allah and His angels shower blessings on the Prophet (saw). O, Believer! Send blessings upon him and salute him with a worthy salutation." In the Holy Qur’an Allah (swt) has described the good qualities and praises of a number of Prophets; for instance, when Adam (as) was created all the angels were ordered to prostrate before him. Ibrahim (as) is described as Khalilullah. Friend of Allah. Various other Prophets have been mentioned with praises. However, our Prophet (saw) has been given a distinguished place by Almighty Allah in the Holy Qur’an, as evidenced by this verse: Allah has asked the believers to honor His Messenger (saw), because He Himself is honoring the Prophet (saw). This is the utmost honor to our Messenger (saw), whose status is that of Leader of Apostles. KHASIAT SELAWAT SYIFA’ 1.
