http://www.longplays.org Played by: Tsunao "Ha! Mankind. A cesspit of hatred and lies. Fight for them, then, and die for their sins!" An enhanced remake of Rondo of Blood, a PC Engine game exclusive to Japan (redundancy?). Follow the adventure of Richiter Belmont as he rescues maidens (and a little girl). Belmont Pimp Walk may or may not be involved. Difficulty seems a little meh, but it gets hard because it is a Castlevania game. Dunno if it is present in the PCE version, but you can't die from a boss's final attack. Final attacks are there to screw you over a no damage run (rather, completing the stage with a full life bar.) On the subject of No Damage: when did Castlevania gave extra lives for scoring points? o_O (I know Castlevania does it.) This is just a basic playthrough with little regards to getting all of the goodies. I do try to get as many as I can find. I also show all stages. I use Richter for Prologue (duh), Stage 1 (top path), Stage 2, Stage 3, Stage 4, Stage 5', Stage 7 (rescue cleverly hidden maiden), and Stage 8 (good ending). I use Maria for Stage 1 (bottom), Stage 2', Stage 3', Stage 4', Stage 5, Stage 6, Stage 7 (no maiden rescue; fight against L. Vampire. Lesser? Lesbian?), and Stage 8 (bad ending). Maria's segments were done in one sitting (unlike the Richter segments, where I quit Stage 3 to play Maria, just because I can.) I would've used Maria for the whole game, but that would be boring (she is very easy to play with in my opinion). I don't unlock Symphony of the Night, but that is irrelevant (who the hell buys this game for Symphony of the Night anyway? I came for the remake.) There are a couple of times where I die (Stage 5' ISN'T fun with Richiter. -_-) Speaking of Symphony of the Night: DXC has two unlockables: aforementioned Symphony of the Night (and it is a bit different from the PSX version. Supposedly based on the Saturn versoin, what with Maria being playable and the N-Demon.) and the original Rondo of Blood (with English text and voiceover.)
