Oasis était un groupe de rock britannique de Manchester composé depuis 1991 de : * Liam Gallagher : chant, tambourin * Noel Gallagher : guitare principale, chant * Gem Archer : guitare rythmique depuis 1999 * Andy Bell : basse depuis 1999 * Chris Sharrock : batterie depuis 2008 Le groupe s'est séparé le 28 août 2009, lors du festival Rock En Seine. Histoire du groupe : 29 Mai 1967 Noel Gallagher naît au St Mary Hospital, à Manchester. Le même jour, les Beatles annoncent la sortie de leur nouvel album, Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. 21 Septembre 1972 Naissance de William John Gallagher. 1983 Noel est arrêté par la police de Manchester pour avoir cambriolé une boutique du quartier. Il a 16 ans et passe quelques jours au frais. 1985 Noel monte son premier groupe avec son voisin Paul Bradsley, qui joue sous différents noms : The Amateurs ou Fantasy Chicken. 1985-1988 Noel pratique de nombreux métiers sans avenir, ouvrier, boulanger, peintre de panneaux de signalisation et même constructeur d'aquariums. Finalement il se fait engager chez un entrepreneur affilié à British Gas, un jour, il laisse tombé le bouchon d'un énorme tuyau et se casse le pied. Quand il revient de son congé de maladie, on lui donne un job dans un entrepôt où avec de la chance il voit passer deux personnes par semaine. Très vite il apporte sa guitare et se met à écrire des chansons pour chasser l'ennui. C'est là qu'il écrit quatre chansons de Definitely Maybe. 1988 Liam et Noel vont voir The Stone Roses à Manchester. Ils en ressortent bouleversés. Fin 1988 Noel passe une audition pour devenir chanteur des Inspiral Carpets. Pas assez groove pour le groupe, il devient finalement roadie. 1990 Les Inspiral Carpets jouent au gigantesque G-Mex de Manchester. Roadie...
