I debated whether I should post the following. I decided that I should. I want to introduce you to Laura Bretan. She is a 13 year old from Chicago, Illinois. She is competing on Americas Got Talent. She is a monumentally talented singer. She does not do POP or ROCK or FOLK or COUNTRY. She performs opera. She performs it as though she was highly trained with years of professional experience. She has a pitch perfect talent. Her dynamic range is extraordinary. Her elocution of the lyrics is amazing beyond description. She performed one of the most difficult and popular Arias that exist. "Nessun Dorma" "Calaf's Aria" from Puccini's Turandot. She performs it in its' original Italian. I have the English translation that follows. It explains the Passion that Laura not only presented but, as all truly great artists, she experienced. English Translation Nobody shall sleep!... Nobody shall sleep! Even you, o Princess, in your cold room, watch the stars, that tremble with love and with hope. But my secret is hidden within me, my name no one shall know... No!...No!... On your mouth I will tell it when the light shines. And my kiss will dissolve the silence that makes you mine!... (No one will know his name and we must, alas, die.) Vanish, o night! Set, stars! Set, stars! At dawn, I will win! I will win! I will win!
