Andy Serkis’s ‘Mowgli’ has released its first trailer after much publicity about its origins and following the success of Jon Favreau’s The Jungle Book for Disney, it has its work cut out for it. The film is directed by Serkis and stars Cate Blanchett, Benedict Cumberbatch, Christian Bale, Naomie Harris, Freida Pinto, and Serkis. The film based on Rudyard Kipling’s famous novel focuses on a human child raised by wolves who must face off against a menacing tiger named Shere Khan, as well as his own origins. Perri Nemiroff and Mark Reilly sit down to watch the trailer and offer their reactions as they watch it for the first time. They explore what they liked and what they didn’t like about the trailer and if they think this has a chance to lay its own claim on the Jungle Book story with the film fans.
