MARTHA ~ Larry Clinton & his Orchestra ~ Bea Wain ~ 1938. Larry Clinton started his first band in 1938 in New York City. He wrote several well known songs, which included, MY REVERIE, THE DIPSY DOODLE, SATAN TAKES A HOLIDAY, OUR LOVE, & A STUDY IN BROWN. Before starting his own orchestra, he arranged for The Dorsey Brothers, Glen Gray, & Isham Jones & others. He died at 75 years old in May of 1985, yet another victim of cancer. Singer, Bea Wain, was born Beatrice Wayne on April 30, 1917 in New York City, New York. Prior to joining Larry Clinton's Orchestra in 1937, she was apart of the vocal group billed as "Bea and the Bachelors", which included: Al Rinker (of The Rhythm Boys), Ken Lane, and John Smedberg. She sang with Clinton's Orchestra until sometime in 1939 and then decided on a solo career.
