Mac Miller fait une entrée fracassante dans le rap américain en 2011 avec Blue Slide Park. Après avoir traîné dans les circuits freestyle de Pennsylvanie, le jeune homme s'est fait connaître grâce à son single Nikes On My Feet. Le compteur de sa chaîne YouTube a explosé et son premier album Blue Slide Park (novembre 2011) s'est classé dès sa sortie en tête du top américain porté par le single Party on Fifth Avenue. Mac Miller arrive en Europe armé du single Donald Trump en avril 2012. Mac Miller est né le 19 janvier 1992 à Pittsburgh, en Pennsylvanie, sous le nom de Malcolm McCormick. Autodidacte, il s'est initié à la guitare et la batterie dès ses six ans et a commencé à écrire ses premières chansons à l'âge de dix ans. Cependant, ne sachant pas chanter, il s'est tourné vers le rap pour s'exprimer. À quinze ans, Mac Miller réalise que le rap représente tout pour lui, et décide de s'y consacrer au détriment de sa passion pour le sport. Il commence à se faire connaître dans les soirées freestyle sous le nom de Easy Mac (parfois orthographié EZ Mac). Au lycée, qui a notamment été fréquenté par Wiz Khalifa, Mac Miller monte The Ill Spoke avec le rappeur Beedie. Mais c'est en solo qu'il sort The Jukebox et The High Life en 2009. Le jeune rappeur commence à faire parler de lui sur Internet, tant et si bien qu'il signe avec le label Rostrum à l'âge de 18 ans. Un mois à peine plus tard, il sort la mixtape K.I.D.S (Kickin' Incredibly Dope Shit). Le single Nikes On My Feet paraît en juillet 2010 suivi en mars 2011, par une deuxième mixtape intitulée Best Day Ever. Sa chaîne YouTube dépasse alors les 165 millions de vues. Toute l'année 2011, Mac Miller prépare la sortie de son premier album avec une tournée ...
