Japanese service, in my opinion, is some of the best in the world. You want that water hot? It will melt your face off. You want something quick. What's that, it's already in your hand? Needless to say almost all aspects of good service the Japanese have covered. But of course with all activities of humans there is a seedy underbelly which may may rub for fun facts and juicy gossip. I was thinking recently how for a people so obsessed with politeness, that they are essentially willing to speak down to anyone in the service industry.
