Justin Randall Timberlake (né le 31 janvier 1981 à Memphis, Tennessee) est un chanteur pop/R&B et acteur américain qui s'est fait connaitre comme le leader du groupe *NSYNC. Depuis 2002, il s'est lancé dans une carrière solo avec succès, vendant 7 millions d'exemplaires de son premier opus Justified. Il est revenu sur le devant de la scène en 2006 avec son deuxième album FutureSex/LoveSounds et les hits SexyBack, My Love et le récent What Goes Around...Comes Around. En 1985, ses parents divorcent et il part vivre avec sa mère à Millington, dans la banlieue de Memphis. En 1993, il rejoint le Mickey Mouse Club et y rencontre sa future petite amie Britney Spears, ainsi que Christina Aguilera et JC Chasez, son prochain camarade du groupe *NSYNC. C'est d'ailleurs Justin qui va demander aux producteurs du groupe, Lou Pearlman et Chris Kirkpatrick, de le recruter. En 1999, il fait ses premiers pas en tant qu'acteur dans un téléfilm, Model Behavior. Voulant se détacher de son image de membre de boys band, Justin Timberlake décide de travailler avec les meilleurs producteurs du circuit (Timbaland et The Neptunes) pour atteindre un public plus mature et évoluer artistiquement. Son premier single, Like I Love You est très bien accueilli tout comme son premier album, Justified, qui se vend à plus de 450 000 exemplaires lors de sa semaine de sortie en 2002 et rien que sur le sol américain. Alors qu'il sort d'une relation de 3 ans avec Britney Spears, l'artiste n'hésite pas à s'inspirer de celle-ci pour écrire des chansons parfois amères sur l'amour (la première d'entre elle est Cry Me A River).
