Hi dear friends, On the occasion Of 70th year Independence day Celebration, I have tried to play National Anthem on my Mridangam. This is a first time of its kind This is my small tribute to my nation. Pls watch this & do share with your friends & let's say Jana Gana Mana ... I have used 'B pitch base mridangam ' for nishadham as we don't have high octave instrument of that pitch technically. Also I apologise that I couldn't stand & play the anthem. Its very tough to keep 8 mridangams together & play in a standing position. I also like to thank my friend Vidhushi Lakshmi Rama subramanyam for helping me while scripting the anthem. ________*****_________****_______****________ For Mridangam & Carnatic Percussion classes, Visit: http://mysorevadiraj.com/ *Facebook page: Online Mridangam class: https://www.facebook.com/Online-Mridangam-Class-1702948826647692/ Please download our Android app from google playstore: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=onlinemridangamclass.com.onlinemridangamclass Mobile: +91-9962238396/9962238396 Email: [email protected] "Jana Gana Mana" is the national anthem of India. Written in highly Sanskritised (Tatsama) Bengali, the first of five stanzas of a Brahmo hymn composed and scored by Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore. It was initially misunderstood that the song was written and first sung to praise and felicitate King George V and Queen Mary on their visit to India in 1911. The rumors gave way when Tagore wrote a letter to the Emperor, stating the mentor and creator of Bharath(India) mentioned in the song is not King George V but God himself. The copy of the letter can be found in his autobiography and Jana Gana Mana (hymn) "Jana Gana Mana" was officially adopted by the Constituent Assembly as the Indian national anthem on 24 January 1950.
