Gojira, est un groupe de death metal français formé à Ondres (Landes) en 1996. Les paroles de Gojira ont comme principal sujet la vie et la mort, la spiritualité et la protection de l'environnement. Le nom du groupe est la traduction japonaise de Godzilla, qui était aussi l'ancien nom du groupe avant que celui-ci doive le changer pour des problèmes de droit d'auteur. Leur musique se rapproche de certains groupes comme Morbid Angel, Tool, Meshuggah ou encore Death. Leur avant dernier album , From Mars to Sirius ainsi que leur DVD The Link Alive ont fait l'objet d'une sortie en Amérique du Nord. Gojira a joué dans de nombreux festivals (dont le Download Festival), à Bercy le 7 novembre 2006 (pour le Unholy Alliance Tour, tête d'affiche : Slayer) après une longue tournée française de plus de cent dates, une tournée anglaise en octobre, et sont revenus d'une tournée marathon aux États-Unis (avec Lamb Of God, Machine Head et Trivium) et au Canada en avril 2007. Ils ont également pris part au Radio Rebellion Tour (avec Job for a Cowboy, Behemoth et Beneath the Massacre) qui s'est déroulé à travers les États-Unis du 18 octobre au 18 novembre 2007. Le chanteur-guitariste, Joseph Duplantier, a participé à un morceau du groupe toulousain Manimal intitulé Dead Meat, sur leur album Eros et Thanatos. Il fait une apparition sur ce morceau lors de l'enregistrement du DVD Live de Manimal qui sortira prochainement. Il a aussi participé à un morceau qui sera présent dans l'édition limitée américaine du dernier album d'Apocalyptica, Worlds Collide, dont la sortie outre-Manche est prévue dans le courant de la fin de l'année.
