Breaking News / Metro1 News; Eid would be celebrated across the Middle east on Sunday, including Iraq, Iran, Syria, Yemen, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Libya, Lebanon, Morocco and Tunisia. The central African nations would also be celebrating Eid tomorrow. Dubai, June 24: The Eid moon was sighted in UAE – Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and other parts, along with Qatar, Bahrain and other Gulf countries on Saturday. The confirmation was issued shortly after the moon was sighted by Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). In the entire Gulf region, including the parts of Maghreb and rest of Africa, Eid-al-Fitr prayers would be held on Sunday. In UAE, a 4-day vacation would be observed across sectors, beginning from tomorrow. All institutions and offices would resume for work on Thursday. In Qatar, the holidays would last for the entire week. Bahrain would celebrate Eid for three days. Apart from the Gulf Council nations, Eid will also be celebrated tomorrow in Iraq, Iran, Syria and Turkey. In other parts of the world, the South-east Asia sighted the crescent moon. Eid-al-Fitr will be celebrated in Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei and other parts of the region. The Indian state of Kerala, along with the coastal town of Mangalore would also celebrate Eid tomorrow. However, the rest of India, along with Pakistan, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh would await the crescent moon tomorrow. If the moon is not sighted on Sunday, Eid would be observed on Tuesday. Eid-al-Fitr, observed on the first day of Islamic month of Shawwal, is the biggest festival among Muslims across sectarian lines. The festival is the culmination of the holy month of Ramadan, when believers fast from dawn to dusk for a month’s period, and remain steadfast in prayers.
