Hi guys! I know it’s still November but I just couldn’t wait to start decorating my room for the holiday season. So in this video I will show three really easy decor ideas to make your room super festive for Christmas. For the first idea you will need: adhesive velvet and a pillow. Start off by tracing your favorite Christmas figure on a piece of paper using your computer light and make sure it has the size you want first. You can also print it out if you want. I will leave this picture on my Tumblr page in case you want to use this exact picture. Then cut it out. Trace the mirror image of your stencil on the back of the adhesive velvet and then cut that out too. Finally stick it to your pillow. The adhesive part of this material isn’t very strong so it won’t damage the pillow but make sure you test it first in a small area just in case. As you see this is a super simple way to make Christmas pillows and once Christmas is over you just have to peel the velvet and you will have your regular pillow again. For the second idea you will need: cardstock, wrapping plastic, white glue, some yarn, and cornstarch. Start by making a cone with the cardstock. You can also buy a premade cone too. Tape it down and cut the excess. Wrap it in plastic so the yarn doesn’t stick to the cone. Mix equal parts of white glue and water or you can also use mod podge. Then add a tiny bit of cornstarch although this step is optional. Cover your table because the next step is really messy. Cut a piece of yarn and dip it in the glue mixture. Use your fingers to get rid of the excess glue and wrap it around the cone. Don’t cut pieces of yarn that are to long because they will get tangled. Continue like that until you’re happy with the result and let it dry overnight. or until it completely hardens. To release the yarn tree first take out the cardstock and then carefully the plastic wrap. Now it’s time for decorations. I used rhinestone stickers for this but you can use whatever you want. I also cut a little cardstock star, covered it in glitter and glued it to the top of my tree. And that’s it! This is a super cute way to make a tree and it’s really easy to personalize it to make it your own. For my final idea you will need: a candlestick holder, a small fishbowl, wire ribbon, some tinsel and candy. We’re going to start by making a bow. For that cut a piece of the ribbon and make a circle. Pinch it in the middle and glue it in place. Take another piece of ribbon and fold it as I’m doing in the video. Glue it in place and wrap it around the other part. Cut the excess and secure it with more glue. Now cut two more pieces and glue together one of the ends. Then glue them to the back of the bow piece. Finally cut off two triangles from the bottom to give that bow shape. Make the stand by gluing the candlestick holder and the fishbowl together. Fold another piece of ribbon as I’m doing here and glue it to the middle of the stand. Then just glue the bow to that part. Finally fill the inside with some tinsel and candy and that’s it! This DIY looks so elegant and pretty and it’s perfect to offer your friends and family some of your favorite Holiday candy or chocolate.
