Death Grips sont un groupe de hip hop experimental formé à Sacramento, Californie en 2010. Ce groupe consiste du rappeur Stefan Burnett alias MC Ride et des deux producteurs Zach Hill et Andy Morin alias Flatlander. Leur formation en concert consiste de MC Ride à la voix, de Flatlander aux claviers et de Zach Hill aux percussions. Le groupe a été officiellement formé le 21 décembre 2010, et a sorti son premier morceau et son premier clip "Full Moon (Death Classic)" le 8 mars 2011. Le 26 avril 2011, ils ont sorti leur première mixtape, Exmilitary. NBCNewYork.com l'a qualifiée d'"une écoute sombre et intense". Le 27 février 2012, Death Grips ont signé chez le label Epic et ont sorti deux albums la même année Le premier album officiel, The Money Store, est sorti le 24 avril. Des clips ont été faits pour "Blackjack," "Get Got," et "Fever (Aye Aye)." La chanson "Lost Boys" est sortie seule sans accompagnement visuel. Après un mois et-demi de jeu en réalité alternée en rapport avec le deep web, et un conflit avec Epic autour de la sortie de No Love Deep Web, Death Grips ont fuité leur propre album sur leur site Internet le 1er octobre 2012, ce qui a mené à la fermeture du site du groupe.
