CINCINNATI, OHIO — A brave civilian helped a Cincinnati cop who called for help subdue a suspect who was going for his gun, possibly helping prevent another tragic police shooting. The incident happened on July 30, the same day former University of Cincinnati police officer Ray Tensing was charged with the July 19 shooting death of Sam Dubose in a separate traffic stop. The civilian, identified as Edward Williams, was driving with his ex-girlfriend and her daughter when he saw the cop struggling with the unyielding suspect. William's ex-girlfriend tried to talk him out of helping because she was afraid he would get hurt. But Williams handed her his tablet PC so she could continue recording while he got out of his car and went to help. The cop asked Williams to hand him his handcuffs, while the suspect called out to Williams, saying that the cop had tried to choke him to death. The cop warned that the suspect was trying to reach for his gun. Backup later arrived and the suspect was escorted to a police car. The suspect thanked Williams, while the cops told him to remain silent. No details about the arrest are currently available. However, it's clear from the video that Williams may have saved two lives that day. ------------------------------------------------------------- Welcome to TomoNews, where we animate the most entertaining news on the internets.
