Beyoncé Giselle Knowles (Houston, Texas, 4 septembre 1981) est une chanteuse de R&B et soul, compositrice, productrice et actrice américaine. Sa famille : son père, Matthew Knowles est vendeur dans une société et est afro-américain et sa mère, Tina Beyoncé Deréone dirige un salon de coiffure et est une Haïtienne de descendance Créole de la Louisiane. Ses parents ont choisi son prénom pour que le nom de famille de sa mère ne disparaisse pas. Ses grand-parents maternels, Lumis Beyoncé et Agnès Deréon, étaient des Créoles de langue française de Louisiane (cela explique l'accent aigu sur le "e" final de son patronyme artistique). Beyoncé confessera lors d'une interview sur une chaîne Canadienne que lorsque qu'elle était plus jeune sa mère ne lui avait pas appris à parler Créole à la maison car elle même plus jeune n'osait pas parler Créole devant ses camarades mais que ses tantes et cousins le pratiquent couramment. Sa cousine Kelly Rowland maitrise en revanche très bien le Créole de Louisiane. Son père est son manager. Sa mère, Tina, est sa styliste.Sa petite sœur,Solange, qui est aussi chanteuse, l'aide parfois. Avec sa mère, Beyoncé décide de créer une collection de vêtements qui se nomme House of Déréon. C'est aussi un hommage à Agnès, qui est la mère de Tina, donc la grand-mère de Beyoncé. Dernièrement elle s'est encore mise au travail avec Tina pour une nouvelle collection qui se nomme Déréon. Celle-ci est réservée à ses plus jeunes fans. C'est Solange, sa petite sœur, qui en fait la tête d'affiche. Beyoncé commence à danser et à chanter à l'âge de quatre ans.
