Riley B. King, connu sous le nom de B. B. King (né à Itta Bena, Mississippi le 16 septembre 1925 et mort à Las Vegas le 14 mai 2015), est un guitariste, compositeur et chanteur de blues américain. Il est considéré comme l'un des meilleurs et des plus respectés musiciens de blues. B.B King enregistre ses premières chansons en 1947 à Los Angeles pour RPM Records. La majorité de ces premiers enregistrements sont produits par Sam Phillips, qui créera plus tard Sun Records. B.B. King est également disque jockey à Memphis, d'où il tire son surnom "Beale Street Blues Boy", qui, raccourci, donne B. B. Dans les années 1950, B. B. King devient un des plus importants acteurs de la musique R&B, collectionnant une impressionnante liste de succès tel que You Know I Love You, Woke Up This Morning, Please Love Me, When My Heart Beats like a Hammer, Whole Lotta Love, You Upset Me Baby, Every Day I Have the Blues, Sneakin' Around, Ten Long Years, Bad Luck, Sweet Little Angel, On My Word of Honor et Please Accept My Love. En 1962, B.B. King signe avec ABC-Paramount Records. En novembre 1964, il enregistre son album live le plus connu Live at the Regal, au Regal Theater de Chicago (Illinois). B. B. King trouve le succès hors du monde du blues avec le titre The Thrill is gone, en 1969. Il est également reconnu par le monde de la musique rock grâce à la première partie des Rolling Stones pendant leur tournée américaine de 1969. De 1951 à 1985, B.B. King est apparu 74 fois au Billboard's R&B charts. En 1988, il touche une nouvelle génération avec le titre When Love Comes To Town, avec le groupe U2 sur leur album Rattle and Hum. En 2000, B. B.
