Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response (ASMR) is a physical sensation characterized by a pleasurable tingling that typically begins in the head and scalp, and often moves down the spine and through the limbs. The sole purpose of ASMR is to relax people, often times to help them go to sleep at night. While those new to the phenomenon/community may want to sexualize it or generalize certain sounds as inappropriate, ASMR is not inherently sexual.
