I sowed my peas today in one of the allotment raised beds because the soil had warmed up over the last week's warm weather. I take out a shallow drill about 4" wide and 1" deep and simply throw the peas in about an inch apart along the row. Then simply cover the pea seeds with about an inch of soil and water the row. To combat the mouse problem that many people have I made a mesh protector out of 10mm mesh and simply cover the row with this and it seems to keep out the mice and once they are through and growing I just remove it.
