Here you will find probably the most ecstatic music on earth : Alexander Scriabin's "Poem of Ecstasy" op. 54 also known as his 4th symphony. It is like a long symphonic poem of about 20 minutes composed on a long (about 8 pages) epic-like poem wich Scriabin wrote himself. It tells the long course of the spirit through the space, liberated from the human body (like in the "Übermensch" theory of Friederich Nietzsche). This is the version of Pierre Boulez with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, which is not my favourite one but still very interesting. The paintings are : Gustav Klimt : Beethovenfries : "Die Schwebenden" Vassili Kandinsky : "Bleu de ciel" Gustav Klimt : "Die Musik" Vassili Kandinsky : Sketch for the "Composition VII" Gustav Klimt : Beethovenfries : "Hymne an den Glück" Vassili Kandinsky : "Composition VII" Vassili Kandinsky : "Composition VI" William Turner : "Sunset over a lake" Vassili Kandinsky : "De courbe à courbe" Gustav Klimt : Beethovenfries : "Die drei Gorgonen" Vassili Kandinsky : "Improvisation Klamm" Vassili Kandinsky : "Improvisation XII" Caspar David Friedrich : "Frau vor untergehender Sonne" Here the links of the websites on which you can find the text of the poem : Russian (original) version : http://belcanto.ru/scriabin_extase.html German version : http://deposit.ddb.de/ep/netpub/97/03/78/957780397/_data_dyna/_snap_stand_2003_03_27/1999/1999T5.htm English version (thanks to the user who sent it to me!): https://docs.google.com/document/d/1XShpC0jpL0obuSRREZlTlIu4-z8I87-Etb7zPjIMQ6g/edit?usp=sharing Hope you enjoy... ;)
